The shortest month of the year was definitely not short on adventures. Between weddings, family time during the Mardi Gras season, and a Too Faced brunch I am so grateful for the quality time this past month has brought!
Mardi Gras is such a flamboyant season in the South, one my family and I love. My three boys love parades and were able to join in on all the fun while riding around in a St Charles streetcar float my dad built, complete with a Zatarains logo on the side.. The sign read "All Things NOLA presents Uptown Boys". It was perfect! Baby Joshua enjoyed shouting for throws, and James and Jonah walked around with bundles of beads, some hats, and other goodies.
I also worked on two weddings this month, though didn't get the chance to take more photos. Both brides were beautiful, and such a joy to work with. Congratulations to Jade and Suzy! Wishing you joy and happiness in your marriages.
During the slowe times of the month, I spent in store with Too Faced. I love working with the everyday woman, helping her find what she needs to become her most confident self. I attended a Too Faced brunch at the Palace Cafe in New Orleans to celebrate and learn about the newest collection before its official launching-= the Festival Collection! So whimsical!. We had a private dining room in the wine room and were able to play with the newest eyeshadows, highlighter, and lip creme lipsticks in the brand. It was everything magical.
March will be packed, with no days off! So if you see me around, be sure to order a coffee because I will need it! I am looking forward to being backstage again, though. There is something about working on operas that will always be one of my biggest loves as a makeup and hair artist. Three will be filling my time next month: Champion in New Orleans, Man of la Mancha in Pensacola, and Dialogues of the Carmelites, at Loyola University.
I'm dreaming of April when things slow down and I'm able to focus on creative shoots, fostering that fine art creativity and my bestie, Brit Smith, will be doing it with me! I love working on creative shoots because I build dresses and turn it into an entire look.
A trip to Vegas is also in the works! The Spring season holds so many opportunities, I cannot wait. To more adventures!
Stay beautiful! xoxo
